My links page works now. And I need to say one more thing and then I’ll stop talking about my website. I have to give credit to my husband. I did the design, but he made it all work. All that coding is no easy thing. My knowledge of PHP is limited to editing pre-exsisting pages, and even then I barely know what I’m doing. Jim on the other hand is a coding genious. He made all of this work and continues to fix it for me when I mess it up (which is, unfortunately, quite often.)
He installed the new (and very cool) version of wordpress for me, did something fancy with the database and even wrote a script that made 10 comments » | Jim, this website

Saturday we drove 30 miles to the next town over to pick up our new beagle puppy. He and the kids were very excited as we drove home, so much so that he peed on me 3 times on the way home. Nothing like breaking in your new owner. (Let’s not talk about our floor – I’m just thankful that we’ve got mostly hard surfaces.)
He’s 3 months old, cute, sweet and he can clear a room like nobodies business. We’re pretty sure that his name is going to be Tuck. He’s sitting snuggling me with his sweet puppy head as I type this. awww…
And if you’re surfing with bloglines, you may want to check out the new look. Now you know why my wrist has been bothering me! I’m still testing, and working some things out (especially in Internet Explorer), but I’m glad to be done. Just let me know if you find any bugs as you browse around.

I never want to be a blog clique. I always want people to know that they’re welcome here and that I’m interested in the comments they make. That’s why I always try my hardest to reply to each comment. I’m not interested in this website just being all about me or the number of hits I get. (But I do have to say, it’s fun to brag to my husband that my website gets the most hits out of every website on our server. I think deep down he’s actually proud.) I never want it to be at the point that I’m just writing it to write, I’m all about building friendships. I don’t see the internet as a barrier for creating friendships, I see it as an enabler.
So I guess what I was trying to say before, is that I give up on trying to be friends with people who don’t want to be friends with me.
And I neglected to say that I’m so thankful for all of YOU! It just makes my day to open up my email and see that I’ve got comments. I’m also really enjoying getting to know all of you through your blogs too. So if this were a clique, you’d all be in it, but I just think a clique is too exclusive and I’m not about excluding anyone.

Well, a grueling week of sifting through code and here it is. I’m really excited about the new and improved pretendingsanity.com. It started with my EXTREME need to find a way to block all the freaking spam. Seriously, there were days that I deleted over 100 spam comments from the site. With upgrading the blog software, it should take care of the spam problem.
But there are several cool new features that I think you’ll like. I’ve been able to expand the menu section so that I can now store past weeks menu’s in the database. You can also now comment on the weekly menus.
The posts are now sorted by categories and thanks to my husbands GENIUS mind, the archives are sorted by month AND title.
There will only be one days post on the front page from now on, but viewing previous posts is simple. Just click through the before and after links at the top of each page. Or view previous posts by clicking on the calendar or visiting the archives.
Anyway, I hope you really like it. Please let me know if you find anything wonky as you’re looking around. I’m excited about all the new features and about NO MORE SPAM!!! (keep your fingers crossed.)
Oh, yeah, if something looks really strange, try hitting your refresh button a couple of times and don’t forget to read about how Honor may of may not have consumed a worm yesterday. :)

Well, here it is in all it’s glory. Suprised? Please have a little bit of patience while browsing, I’m sure there are still some bugs to be worked out. If you’re seeing something really out of wack, try hitting your refresh button a few times. If that doesn’t seem to fix it, send me an email. If you’re using Internet Explorer for Mac, I can’t promise that it will look too great for you, Internet Explorer for Mac sucks. I use Safari and my husband uses Firefox, just in case you were wondering. We frequently argue about which one is superior.
I’m going to bed now, can’t. look. at. the. computer. any. longer.
