Eden has an imaginary friend. Her name is Lizzy. She’s two like Eden and has pink butterfly earrings. She also has long pink hair.
Isn’t that so funny? I can’t believe how smart she is.
Yesterday I got Eden some My Little Pony Valentines Cards. It’s amazing what entertainment a $1.99 box of cardboard can provide. She spent like an hour looking at the box before we even opened them.

She’s going to be 3 in two weeks and this as all the hair she has. I’m starting to worry that she’s got a hair growing disease!
And for your viewing pleasure, Honor’s dinner last night:

Today, after getting back from our bike ride (yep, in January it is nice enough to go on a bike ride, ahhh, the joys of living in Colorado) I was lounging on the couch when Eden was looking at the clock collection. She pointed to the number four and said, “mom, that’s 4″. I asked her, “Who told you that?” And she said, “Dora.”
I guess all those countless days I’ve had “backpack, backpack” stuck in my head have been worth it. She is one sharp kiddo.
I also wanted to thank you all for your kind and encouraging comments. They’ve really meant SO much to me. I can’t say how much I enjoy this website and the “community” that you’ve all made it into. I count it as one of the great things in my life.

Eden’s quote of the week (remember she’s 2.)
In response to being told to put her laundry away.
“I don’t have time for this.”

Thanksgiving we made the mistake of letting Eden watch the latest Harry Potter. It was much scarier than the first two. There were many times that we had to cover Eden’s eyes.
So, she is STILL talking about Harry Pottomus and the mean hand. That kid has the best memory. She was telling me yesterday all about the mean tree and the girl and the mean dog that was really nice being mean to the boy. But mostly it’s about the mean hand (of the dementors). Yes we definetly shouldn’t have let her watch it.
For those of you Harry fans out there, here’s a link to a pattern for the harry potter scarf. I wish I wouldn’t have told my sister about this because I could have made it for her. I may still…. hmm. (Ashley, don’t read that.)

It has begun and I will have to live through 17 more years of it. Today Eden said to me “Honor is touching me.” Who knows what’s next, maybe, “Honor’s looking at me”? or maybe “Honor is on my side”?
Fantastic.

Today was the first Saturday in a long time that it hasn’t rained, so Jim (and Eden) took the opportunity to rake leaves. Being the two year old that she is, Eden had to help. (For those of you who don’t have the pleasure of having a two year old, I’ll enlighten you on their activities. There are two things that a two year old does and you can never know which one to expect. They can either be throwing a fit or wanting to “help”. That’s it. I can’t even tell you which is worse.)
Eden had a hard time figuring out that the leaves were supposed to go in the street, not on the lawn. They were going in the street because our city actually does something cool for it’s residents. All fall long we have a leaf pick up. I can’t imagine what a pain it would be to have to bag all the leaves.

I finished these wonderful wrist warmers last night.
(Please don’t think less me for having inherited my Dads chubby hands. Or for the picture being weird, it’s hard to take a picture of your own hand.)
Also, for your viewing pleasure, Eden, the Biker Baby.
More to come on the wrist warmers later, I’m working on a whole new, database driven, page for my knitting.

Eden has taken to telling us when she can do something without help. And even if she can’t she still tells us, “I can do it myself.” Of course when she discovers that she can’t do it herself, she throws a huge whopping fit, screaming and freaking out until someone helps her do whatever it is she needs. I’m not too fond of the fits.
Today we got the invatations for Fiesta Blevinza printed out and ready to mail. Tomorrow we will walk down to the post office and mail them out. I’ve got to get my moms cotton candy machine fixed sometime this month. If we have nothing else to eat at this fiesta, there WILL be cotton candy.
I also started on another scarf. This one is forrest green and knitted on a bias. I’m too lazy to take a picture right now, but I’ll have one up soon.

Last night we went to my sisters house to visit her new pet. An Iguana named Melengar. He’s a rather massive lizard, about 3 feet long. I wish I would have brought my camera with me….
He’s got a blue head that fades into a brilliant green and then ends at his tail in brown. Eden was pretty scared of him and would only touch his tail, when we forced her to. But this morning, all she could talk about was “Ashweys Wizard”. She told me that she touched the “wizards” tail and that the “wizard woves me!”.
On a side note, yesterday Eden gathered up her purse full of toys, put her shoes on (nevermind pants!) and announced that she and bunny where going shopping at Old Navy. Makes me so proud!
