There’s a delightful white blanket of sparkly snow covering our town. Something about such weather brings me a great deal of joy.
I stepped out the door of Tangle to take a few photos of the weather and just kept clicking away. I figure it’s been awhile since I posted photos of what the store looks like anyway. In some senses we’re still a baby store, but I’m very proud of how far we’ve come. I’ve taken very little time lately to just sit back and be proud of what I’ve accomplished.
just fyi, there are a few things that are on sale at Tangle. :)

I’ve had a busy, busy past week with not much of an end in sight. There’s lots to catch up on, but until I have time, take a look at the bags we just got in at Tangle. I’m so in love!! We just put in a big order for more today and we found out that what we’re getting will be the last of these specific bags. Phew! Thank goodness we got them!! The one pictured below is going to be MINE!!! More to come…
So it turns out that my exciting news for Tangle fell through. But not to worry, things are still going to great, you should see the place. It’s jam packed with the most gorgeous yarn… I have to say Christina (who is my new business partner, by the way, THAT’S an exciting thing!), and I have really good taste!
Anyway, I am certain that things are going to go well for us no matter what! And I’m proud of what business women we’ve become too.
BTW, tomorrow is our first birthday party at the store. Can you believe it’s been a year since I opened? If any of you are in town, stop by the store for a cupcake to celebrate with us! And if you’re not in town, check out the website tomorrow, there is going to be an AMAZING sale going on.
The very best sock kit is back in stock.
just in case you wanted to know!

I’m happy to report that the pre-launch of my online store is up! Now you can see what’s been taking up all my time!
Please take a look around and tell me what you think. I’ll be continuing to add new products and of course, I’m happy to take a special order.
If you want to buy something, use coupon code “ps” to receive 10% off.
I’m very excited about this!
Things have been really busy/crazy around here. I owe so many emails, it’s not even funny. So, please, if I do owe you an email, don’t take it personally, I’m just behind on everything.
I did manage to capture a few photos of my most recent store models on my phone. I really like them both. A lot. (And hopefully, hopefully, hopefully kits for both of these will be available very soon at tangleonline.com – cross your fingers!)
The softest baby blanket ever
Yarn: GGH Esprit
Size 13 needles
I loved knitting this baby blanket! I wish I would have made one for every baby I know, and now they’re not babies any more! My crappy photo doesn’t do it justice.
Mistake rib scarf
Yarn: SWTC Karaoke 50% soysilk 50% wool
Size 9 needles
Pattern from SWTC
This one was really fun to make too. I loved watching the colors change. I’m fairly certain that this pattern is very similar to the on in Last Minute Knitted Gifts, but the soy silk is SO much softer than Noro.
I’ve got one more thing finished that I’m really excited about, but I’m going to wait until I can get a proper photo to do it justice.
It’s been almost a year that I’ve been working at the yarn store in some sort of capacity. (I actually taught my first class ever on my birthday.) In that time, I’ve grown to love so many of the people that frequent the store. I think that is ultimately the reason that I decided to take over the store, I loved all of these people and I just couldn’t let go. They still needed this place and so did I.
I think the thing is that when your heart gets tangled up with all these people it becomes open to sharing their joy and their pain. It’s so exciting when someone brings in their new baby or comes to show me an engagement ring. But it’s also so devastating when someone comes in reeling from bad news.
I have a customer who has cancer. I hate cancer with every fiber in my being. I hate watching someone suffer and there be nothing that I can do about it. Some days she doesn’t even feel like knitting. It’s the scariest thing in the world and it is SO unfair.
Yesterday, another customer of mine lost her brand new grandson. He was born with tremendous birth defects and died in his mothers arms. I grieve today for a baby that I never knew, whose parents I never knew.
Things get messy when you allow others into your heart. But I think that’s really the joy of life, sharing it with others. I think I’m truly lucky to have the opportunity.
