Thanksgiving we made the mistake of letting Eden watch the latest Harry Potter. It was much scarier than the first two. There were many times that we had to cover Eden’s eyes.
So, she is STILL talking about Harry Pottomus and the mean hand. That kid has the best memory. She was telling me yesterday all about the mean tree and the girl and the mean dog that was really nice being mean to the boy. But mostly it’s about the mean hand (of the dementors). Yes we definetly shouldn’t have let her watch it.
For those of you Harry fans out there, here’s a link to a pattern for the harry potter scarf. I wish I wouldn’t have told my sister about this because I could have made it for her. I may still…. hmm. (Ashley, don’t read that.)

Joelene alerted me that the Winter Knitty is up. As if I needed more of a reason to knit!

We had quite the busy weekend. Most of it was spent at Target. We’ve been wanting to do something new with our dresser. I took a picture of it, but I’m too embarrassed to show the internet. Just believe me when I say it was bad.
We decided that we wanted to go to some kind of shelving unit, instead of a dresser. This is mostly because Jim had five hundred billion t-shirts. Which often results in the desired t-shirt being WAY at the bottom of the drawer, leading to his tearing through the dresser drawer and causing me to wonder why I even bother to fold said t-shirts. With our new shelving unit, he can see every one of his five hundred billion t-shirts and leave everything nice and neat (in theory anyway.)
Notice the new TV. We argued for a week about whether we needed a new TV. Jim, of course was convinced that we needed a 27″ television for the bedroom and I was happy to keep the old (very old) one we had. We finally compromised on the 20″ Target special. Now, of course, Jim feels like we need a surround system. For the BEDROOM. I think not.
On to more important matters. Knitting. I’ve finished my brown with gold flecks scarf.
I also made my first mitten. I’m quite proud of myself. It was actually much easier than I anticipated. The pattern is Super Mittens from Weekend Knitting.
These mittens will match my tan, seafoam and brown scarf.

I finished 3 ponchos this weekend. One for my cousin Leann, that I failed to take a pic of before I packaged it up. (She promised to take some pictures for me when she gets it though.) It’s the stitch diva poncho. I made it out of Berroco suede in black.
I also made these little ponchos. My original goal was to make Eden a poncho, but I didn’t have a pattern. So I tried to adapt the stitch diva pattern to work. The first one turned into an itty bitty baby poncho, that I gave to Jennifer’s sister, who just had a little girl (with more hair than Eden, by the way!).
Here it is modeled on pig
And here is my second try, I should have cast on fewer stitches, but I got it to work.
It will take some doing to convince Eden that she is at the height of fashion when she is wearing her poncho, as you can see, by the thrilled expression on her face, she’s not the biggest fan.

This site just wouldn’t be complete without a scarf to match! Without further ado, I present the pretending.sanity. signature scarf.
Notice the loverly knitted red rose? This scarf will soon be available for sale, as soon as I get my shopping cart up!
I’ve also completed the white and pink Jennifer scarf which will be shipped off today tomorrow.
And my grass is greener purse is mostly completed, I still have to line it and I’m going to try and reinforce the bottom and sides with cardboard.
Quite a productive weekend if I do say so myself.

Jim swears that I have a disease. But how could you call loving to knit a disease? I try to tell him that my yarn stash is really modest compared to most hard core knitters, but he just doesn’t believe me.
Today I went out to Palisade to visit my friend Melissa and while I was out there, I thought, “Why not stop at the yarn store?” No harm in that. This is what I brought home.
Just a small amount of yarn. Nothing to start calling me an addict over or anything.
I’m excited because the grey and brown (well not really brown, more like purply/browny/greyish) on the right are for my Ribby Cardi, which I can’t wait to get started on! And the green is for my So Called Scarf. Thge black is for my cousin Leann’s poncho.
I’ve got a LOT of knitting ahead of me, yay!

A little update on what I’m working on. The Frida Poncho is coming slowly but surely. I’ve got about 7 more rows until I’m finished with the first panel.
I’ve started on another dooce scarf and it’s coming along.
I’ve also got on the back burner this great scarf.
I’ve received some interest in my knitting prices, so I decided to go ahead and price everything. This is a trial run as far as prices go, so bear with me. I don’t want to kill myself for this, but I also don’t want it to be too expensive. Just keep in mind that a lot of these products are wool and they are hand made. :)
You can find my prices and knitted work on the pretending sanity knits page.

Check out these Ugg booties. I’m going to knit some for Eden, they will be perfect for slippers.
I found this pattern via Action Hero Knitting
On the kid front, I think that Eden is finished with her naps. Today she took a fabulous nap, but right now it is 10:53pm and she is awake. And not only awake, but dancing around the house singing a song. (Speaking of Eden’s imagination, today she decided that she and Honor were going to take a trip to the “arn” store. I’m so proud.) It’s a wonder she didn’t wake Honor up; the little punk turned the light on in their room! It just seems like two years old is too young to cut out naps. (And mom I know what you’re thinking. I do not deserve this. It’s not my fault that I didn’t/don’t like naps.) I will continue to make her lay down for at least an hour a day. I need at least an hour of quiet so I don’t loose my mind.

I stumbled across this knitting blog last night and found this great scarf. And I thought, “I’ve only made one scarf for myself. How can that be? I need more scarves.” I’m hoping that I can find this yarn at my lys, because I really like this scarf exactly as is.
My so called scarf

But you’ll forgive me when you see my Hallowig, right?
And if that doesn’t make you want to forgive me, this certainly will.
