elephant
I can’t remember the last time Eden slept through the whole night. She rarely gets up needing to go to the bathroom, but she always says she’s scared. As she gets bigger, it gets harder and harder to actually get any sleep if she’s in bed with us, so we usually make her go back to her bed. The other night she climbed into, or I should say onto, our bed and when I told her to go back she threw a big fit. She said that she was scared of the Elephant on her wall. She was really freaking out about it.
So, in a moment of tired desperation I asked her, “Do you want to sleep on the couch?” And she thought that was the greatest thing ever. Now all she wants to do is sleep on the couch. I’m not sure how to keep her in her bed, but at least she says that she’s not scared of the elephant anymore.

My boys both love to sleep on the couches so much that sometimes I wonder why they have a room. Neither of them use the closet, either. I could just let them sleep on the couches, put my yarn in their closet and have their 2 dressers in there and get a whole spare room! (not)

Lol that is one frightening elephant!
Seriously though, sleep troubles suck for kiddos and parents alike. If the couch keeps her asleep, great I say.

Oh gosh… welcome to the club. We are in dire need of a KING size bed – or I guess some disciplin for our kids LOL! It’s super hard for us now that my belly is growing. We’re lucky if we can get throught the night with just one kid in our bed vs. two and of course soon to be three.

Wow those things are huge compared to her bed! LOL!I think I’d be a little afraid too. But then I am a wimp.

OK, I’m truly scared for my future in the world of sleep now! I was thinking that all that nonsense stopped after they learned to sleep in their own beds- but alas it is not be. Drew has been crawling in our bed as early as 5 in the morning recently, and well, Beau- he was in there all last night! Thank God for COFFEE!

When my girls were little, (they’re now 22 and 20,) I would put a thick comforter on the floor of our bedroom, so if they woke up scared, they could always come in our room and sleep with out waking us up, One or both would be ther almost every morning :)

micah has started this lately too. i think she’s full of shit. she’s never crying about it and she says she’s scared of the “coconut” (her word of the day which has turned into her word of the month) and the “monsters” and whichever baby/stuffed animal is closest to her that night and the window and the blinds and the fan and well, you name it.
it’s nice to know it may just be an age/phasee thing – i was starting to worry.

I think he’s the cutest oafie looking elephant ever. You should just tell Eden that he’s way to friendly to be scary. And that he’s been looking over her and honor, and keeping them safe since they were tiny babies. I’m not so sure that a 3 year old will buy it, but it’s worth a try.
Oh and I love sleeping on the couch too.

You don’t have to worry until she’s waking at noon, wearing nothing but BVD’s, scratching her ass on the way to the fridge to get a beer and calling you, “MAW.” I think you’re OK for now. Hey, does this mean Anya and I get to sleep with Eden when we come visit?
