again
Don’t forget to sign up for the scarf swap spectacular, there’s only a few spaces left.
Over the last week Honor journeyed into the land of sleeping without the walls of his crib, again. And again, it didn’t work out. I’m just getting used to the fact that he’s going to be sleeping in his crib until he’s 10.
I think he was most tempted to get out of bed at nap time. One day he got up, climbed up onto the dresser and got the lotion, two kinds of diaper ointment and Eden’s princess lip balm. He then preceded to smear all of it all over himself, his sheets, and his friend that was napping in the port-a-crib. He also took every single wipe out of the wipe box. And that was just what happened one day.
We thought we could stick it out this time, but there is only so many times you can wipe diaper ointment off his slimey face or refold an entire box of wipes. So he’s back in his crib again. Maybe we’ll try again in a few months… maybe.

Nap time is always the hardest… I say crib all the way! Tasia was the same way so when we moved her to a big girl bed we skipped the toddlerbed and put her up on a tall bed and added saftey rails. It took her forever to figure out that she could get down and by that time she was old enough for us to bribe to stay in bed. GOOD LUCK!

Yeah, good luck! And getting diaper ointment out of anything sucks!

diaper ointment! Oh no! One day the girls snuck into their closets and painted themselves with it…not an easy clean!

Um, I’m glad if crib rails still work. Do they make floor to ceiling models?
I once found my “under 18 month old” riding the rail in his attempt to get free of the crib. That was the day we lowered the bar to prevent possible head injury. then he was asked to stay put on his own will power. Uh, yes, you do have to have some effective and loving consequnces in your back pocket. Admittedly the same consequences are not effective for each and every child. So may I just say, “God guide you to what is best for your child and his future.”

Lily had the hardest time with naps too. Even now, if she doesn’t want to nap ain’t NO WAY she’s staying in bed, yo. Kids: can’t lock ‘em in a closet, can’t bind them with duct tape. What’s a mom to do?

You CANT use duck tape?!?!!? Man am I in big trouble! LOL My little guy is heck on two feet. If its not the toilet, its the dog dish, toilet, garbage can, toilet, clean cloths basket, toilet… see a pattern? I really think a velcro wall with a velcro body suit would work very well. NO physical injury or restraint, they could entertain themselves forever!!!

It could be worse. He could be sleeping in your bed until he’s 10.
