Sunday Jim and I headed to Glenwood Springs to celebrate our seventh wedding anniversary. Glenwood is a lovely town, just off I-70, about an hour from Aspen. We walked around town scouting out the yarn store, soaked in the hot springs, rode a gondola up to the top of the mountains, ate some yummy food and enjoyed the offerings of the local brewery. Amidst all this, we dealt with a minor family emergency.
It never ceases to amaze me how we give our family the power to rip out our hearts and stomp them to pieces. I’m pretty jaded right now, and I don’t really know what to say or how much I should say. So, I guess I’ll just say, despite it all, I had a really great time with my husband and I am so thankful that he is my stability.

Happy anniversary! Matt and I were married four years ago today… woo!
I’m not sure what you are going through with your family, but I’ll be praying for you. I am in the middle of an extremely difficult situation with mine… and I’m so thankful that my husband is here for me… not sure if I wouldn’t have made it through all this alone!

Sorry your feeling kind of down about your family. I hope things work out. But congrats on your anniversary. Looks like you had a great time in a beautiful place. My wed anniversary is on the 25th of this month. I don’t know what we’ll do.

The one upside for these “EEEeeeaaaAAck!” family ‘moments’ is the renewed ‘holy sh%t’ realisation of how lucky you are to have this amazing, sexy, warm rock to cling to and support from. I use mine as a big buffer. My family loves him. I use it to full advantage. Poor guy.
