stopover
We’re in the middle of our vacation and I’ve found a rare moment with internet access. (I have to admit, the withdrawals were getting bad!) Due to some unforeseen events and a hideous campground, we’ve traveled more than we intended so we’ve had the opportunity to see much more of South Western Colorado that we planned. Colorado is truly an amazing place. This trip has made me so much more thankful to live here.
We’re off for 3 more nights of camping and then we will be thrown back into the daily grind. I’m not quite ready for that…

I love Colorado. It’s such a beautiful place. Peter often talks of moving there. I think that its’ beauty is best appreciated on vacation.
I was over twenty years old when I first saw mountains. There’s really nothing like it. They loom towards you and pull away from you all at the same time.

Beautiful! I think I’ve fished in that lake… anyway, I hope you’re enjoying your vacation and we’ll have to get together sometime after you get back!

Is that Maroon Bells? Glad you got to see such beautiful places.
And yes, I agree with Sarah (above); some places are so special they are best saved just for vacations – the stress of actually living there saps the beauty.
